People from all across the world cook various dishes on clam shells that taste extraordinarily delicious. Here we have mentioned a few things that surely nobody told you about clamshells for baking-

(1) Check the clams for freshness

You will find a wide variety of clam in the market or at our online store. However, it is important for you to buy the best ones. Make sure to buy those which are fresh and no more than four days old. Also, ask your sellers for the harvest date.

Remember that the shell is tightly closed when the clam is alive. Also, they should be closed while washing. So, before buying, make sure that the clamshell is not damaged or open.

Furthermore, you will smell the aroma of the sea when it comes to fresh clamshells. As you bring calms to your home, unpack them so that they will be able to breathe.

(2) Cleaning of the clams

Once you purchase the clam, the best option is to wash it under running water. This will remove the sands and all the other impurities from the shell. To be very sure, keep them in the bowl of water, salt, and a handful of cornmeal. Leave them for at least 20-30 minutes. Once done, rinse them nicely and soak in the refrigerator for several hours or overnight.

(3) Adding a delightful taste

Clams taste the best when you cook them as soon as possible. So, if you are letting it soak overnight, then it is best you cook them after the wash. Once you remove all the impurities from your clamshells, add some flavors to your dish and give a delightful taste to it. To make the food mouth-watering, boil the clams for at least 4-5 minutes. Wait until the shells open.

Then select the clams that you want to bake. For this, choose the clams which are opened. The clams that are not opening are dead before you transferred them into boiling water.
